Following the launch of the Porsche 911 Challenge, the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring – a competition within the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie – has announced a new class structure for 2027.
Cup 3 will remain the domain of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, with the new 911 Challenge the spec car for Cup 2.
The 992.1-spec Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, which currently races in Cup 2, will be moved to the new Cup 1 class, where it will compete alongside its successor, the 992.2-spec Porsche 911 Cup.
The 911 Cup made its racing debut this year, in select series such as Porsche Supercup, Carrera Cup Germany and Carrera Cup North America, with a rollout into more Porsche one-make series due for 2027.
Both the Porsche 911 Cup and 911 Challenge will therefore make their Nürburgring Nordschleife debuts next year.
