Alongside the SRO Intercontinental GT Challenge and GT World Challenge America championship finale, there is also the Pirelli GT4 America championship, which will be decided at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a double-header weekend.
Race 1 will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM ET before the final DESDER Indianapolis 8 Hour Race, while “SRO America Championship Sunday” will determine the champions as Race 2 starts Sunday at 10:25 AM ET.
The 34 car field is headlined by nine Silver class entries. To briefly catch up since the Lone Star Enduro at COTA, the #028 RS1 Porsche 718 GT4 RS Clubsport of Luca Mars and Spencer Pumpelly has been on a massive hot streak over the summer. Mars and Pumpelly combined to win its class in seven straight races, taking overall victories in both Sebring races, plus Race 2 at Road Atlanta and Road America.
But the #68 RAFA Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 of Tyler Gonzalez and Westin Workman, which swept the Sonoma Raceway opening weekend, fought back by winning Race 1 at Barber Motorsports Park to help keep their slim title hopes alive. In order to overturn the 35-point deficit though, they need wins in both races and likely need help in the form of severe misfortune for the RS1 duo.
A few cars in the Silver class seem poised to play the role of spoiler though. The #7 ACI Motorsports Porsche (Yves Baltas/Trenton Estep) scored the overall and class win at Barber in Race 2.
There is also CSM (Czabok-Simpson Motorsport), debuting the #007 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo (Ayrton Houk/Ismaeel Ellahi) this weekend.
Kellymoss, meanwhile, has two cars of note: One is an all-womens’ entry in the #24 Porsche driven by IMSA alumni Ashley Freiberg, and fourth-generation driver Loni Unser, whose family needs no introduction here at the Speedway.
The other is the #73 Porsche, which has featured Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver programme member Erika Hoffmann. This weekend, Hoffmann is joined by one of the most successful drivers in GT4 America’s history: Two-time Silver class champion Eric Filgueiras, who returns to the SRO America paddock this weekend having spent 2025 in McLaren Trophy America.
12 cars are entered in Pro-Am, where Random Vandals Racing’s #94 BMW M4 GT4 EVO that won overall at the COTA Lone Star Enduro currently leads the Teams’ Championship. Sam Craven leads the Drivers’ standings by four points over Kenton Koch, who missed the Road America races due to family commitments.
The only car that can overtake the #94 BMW is the #33 Blackdog Racing McLaren Artura GT4 of Tony Gaples and Michael Cooper. At Road America, Cooper made history by winning his 44th career race in SRO America/World Challenge competition across all levels – breaking the record previously held by Peter Cunningham.
Gaples and Cooper swept their class at Road America but after Craven and Koch swept Barber, the #33 McLaren needs a perfect weekend to win the title, and that alone may not be enough. Random Vandals’ #94 has six wins this year in class to four from Blackdog’s #33.
Other entries of note include the #27 AutoTechnic Racing BMW with newly-crowned IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge champions Austin Krainz and Stevan McAleer, the #47 NOLASPORT Porsche (Matt Travis/Matheus Leist) which is the only Pro-Am class car to win a race besides the current ‘big two’, Ryan Yardley doubling up in the #25 ACI Motorsports Porsche (with Damir Hot), and Ryan Eversley in the #03 Precision Racing LA Toyota (with Karl Forman).
And how’s this for a story in the Am class: 2026 is actor-turned-driver Frankie Muniz’s first full season of road racing in the #30 TechSport Racing Ford Mustang GT4 that he shares with Tyler Stone, and this year, Muniz and Stone could win the Am championship on their first try!
Muniz’s first win in Road America grabbed headlines, but now the #30 Ford has won three out of the last four races to take a minuscule one-point lead going into Indy, where they face stiff competition from several proven competitors.
The #36 BimmerWorld BMW (James Walker Jnr/James Clay) sits second in points; Clay and his team have won three of the last four championships and can never be counted out. In third is the #21 ACI Motorsports BMW (Michael Garcia/Alex Garcia, -14 points), which swept Road Atlanta. The #188 Random Vandals Racing BMW (Denny Stripling/Judson Holt, -21 points) hasn’t won since sweeping Sonoma, while the #413 Flying Lizard Motorsports BMW (Zach Lumsden/Kris Wilson, -25 points) has stayed in contention without a win so far, but needs at least a win if not two to jump to the top of the table.
13 cars are in the Am class to fill out the field.
