Sting Ray Robb Joins United For Asian Le Mans Campaign

United Autosports has confirmed the driver line-up for its second entry into the 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series season, with IndyCar racer Sting Ray Robb set to make his sportscar debut.

The 25-year-old will share the #22 ORECA 07 – Gibson LMP2 with Giorgio Roda and Ian Aguilera in the six-race, three-round campaign.

2020 Indy Pro 2000 Drivers’ champion Robb joins United Autosports after four seasons in IndyCar, the past two of which were spent with Juncos Hollinger Racing.

“After four seasons competing in IndyCar, I’ve had the opportunity to race against some of the best drivers in the world, and I’m excited to bring that experience into a completely new challenge,” Robb said.

“One of the biggest things that attracted me to United was the winning culture they’ve built. This is an organisation that knows how to compete for victories and championships, and that’s exactly the kind of environment I want to be in.

“Endurance racing brings a different set of challenges, but the goal is the same: to fight at the front and win races. I’m looking forward to working with Giorgio, Ian, and the entire United Autosports team. We all bring different experiences to the car, and I think that’s going to be one of our strengths. I’m excited to get to work, contribute to the team’s success, and hopefully add a few more trophies to the collection!”

19-year-old Aguilera joins United after contesting his first season of LMP2 racing this year. The Mexican driver competed with CLX Motorsport in the European Le Mans Series and 24 Hours of Le Mans, becoming part of the youngest trio to finish the world’s greatest endurance race.

“Joining United Autosports is a fantastic opportunity and another important step forward in my racing career,” Aguilera said.

“The team has achieved so much in endurance racing, and I’m excited to become part of that history. Having gained experience in LMP2 throughout the European Le Mans Series and at Le Mans this year, I’m looking forward to continuing my development alongside Giorgio and Sting Ray. I can’t wait to get started.”

Roda, meanwhile, returns to United Autosports having raced with the Anglo-American in last season’s Asian Le Mans Series.

The 32-year-old scored a near-perfect five out of a possible six pole positions, but repeated misfortune prevented Roda, Mikkel Jensen and Grégoire Saucy from bringing home any silverware.

Roda has since competed in the ELMS with Duqueine Team, finishing fourth in the LMP2 Pro/Am Drivers’ championship and maintaining his status as the Bronze-rated qualifying benchmark in ACO LMP2 competition.

“Having raced with the team last season, I know the level of professionalism, commitment and performance that everyone brings to the programme,” Roda said.

“We showed some very strong pace throughout the championship, particularly in qualifying, and I’m looking forward to building on that experience. The ambition is to be fighting at the front from the very first race.”

The #22 ORECA completes United Autosports’ two-car effort for the 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series season, as the Yorkshire-based operation seeks to successfully back up its 2026 European Le Mans Series crown.

The sister #23 ORECA will be driven by Phil Fayer, Jensen and Hunter McElrea.

United Autosports CEO & team principal Richard Dean commented: “We’re really pleased to welcome Sting Ray and Ian to United Autosports and to have Giorgio continuing with us for another Asian Le Mans Series campaign. It’s always exciting to see drivers from different disciplines stepping into endurance racing, and we’re looking forward to supporting them through this transition.

“Giorgio showed exceptional pace with us last season and knows exactly what it takes to be competitive in this championship, while Ian is a promising young talent who has already gained valuable experience in LMP2 and at Le Mans, not to mention the experience that Sting Ray will bring from IndyCar. It’s a really exciting combination of drivers, and we have every intention of fighting for race wins and the championship.”

The 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series season will begin at Circuit Paul Ricard, France on 13th to 15th November 2026.
