Asian squad FFF Racing Team, continues to expand its activities into Europe, entering the third round of the 2016 International GT Open this weekend at Paul Ricard with one of its Lamborghini Huracán GT3s. Driving for the team will be the Italian duo of Andrea Caldarelli and Vitantonio Liuzzi.
Caldarelli (26) has had a prominent single-seater career, up to GP2, in Europe before becoming an established star in the Japanese Super GT and Super Formula series, while Liuzzi (36) has four F.1 seasons under his belt and has recently been active in series as diverse as WEC and Formula E.
The team has entered two cars for the inaugural Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup season this year, with a Huracan and McLaren 650S GT3.
Andrea Caldarelli, who acts as FFF’s team principal, commented: “This year we are exploring different GT competitions in Europe and the Ricard round was the perfect opportunity to come and see the GT Open. On top, it will be a pleasure to be associated to Tonio, with whom we are close friends since many years”.
Given its status, the pair will be balanced against the rest of the field.
