Farnbacher Racing have revealed that they are set to debut a “New Generation Lexus RC-F GT Prototype” this weekend at VLN9, the car presumed to be the Lexus submitted, DSC believes successfully, for GT3 homologation for 2017 competition.
The team will use the race to test the new components on the car with an aim of finishing the 4 hour race with no issues.
Dominik Farnbacher and Mario Farnbacher are set to crew the new Lexus for its racing debut.
The team, together with Emil Frey Racing via their Lexus Racing arm, have been racing development versions of the previous iteration of RC-F GT3 that was withdrawn from the homologation process 12 months ago. The new car is, in fact, the fourth version of the RC-F GT3 in what has been a long and troubled gestation.
