Zhuhai Entry List

The entry list for the opening round of the 2016/17 Asian Le mans Series at Zhuhai in China has seen an increase from the 31 car season entry to 33.

Many of the TBAs in the driver line-ups are also filling nicely with just a single seat in the four car LMP2 entry still unannounced.

Nicky Catsburg is added to the #24 Algarve Pro Ligier Judd line-upalongside Matt McMurry and Tacksung Kim.

As previously reported by DSC Tockwith Motorsports are added to an already large (11 cars) and varied LMP3 entry, the regular driving duo of Philip Hanson and Nigel Moore will remain.

Zhuhai should be the second time only that any LMP3 race has featured three different chassis manufacturers (after the 2016 Road to Le Mans race) though PS Racing are reported to have had problems with their Adess in testing.

The GT class numbers an impressive 16 cars, with more well known names being added all the time – Ollie Millroy is confirmed aboard one of the Team AAI McLarens and whilst the entry does not currently reflect it, Xavier Maassen seems set to join the team’s efforts too.

Christopher Haase will help crew the #66 TianShi Audi R8 with Matt Griffin in the #61 Clearwater Ferrari 488, Tetsuya Tanaka in the #51 KCMG Audi, Messrs Aguas and Cioci should entertain in the #38 Spirit of Race 488 with Alessandro Pier Guidi in the Team BBT Ferrari.

DH racing field a pair of Ferraris with handy looking crews, the #3 car has Alex Riberas, Olivier Beretts and Rino Mastronadi whilst the #5 fields Stephane Lemeret, Michele Rugolo and Matthieu Vaxivierre.

Action gets underway in Zhuhai on 28 October with the four hour race on the 30th.
