It was a third different Cadillac at the top of the timesheet at the end fo the third Free Practice season at IMSA’s Roar test at Daytona on Saturday.
Tristan Vautier took the #5 Mustang Sampling/JDC-Miller Motorsport Cadillac around in 1:35.710, just under three-tenths clear of the #55 Mazda RT24-P in the hands of Oliver Jarvis.
The FP2 leading #31 Action Express/ Whelen Cadillac posts third-fastest time in the session, Pipo Derani just 16 thousandths off Jarvis’s time.
Racing Team Nederland topped the LMP2 times, the #29 ORECA this time in the hands of young Charles Milesi with a best lap of 1:37.366 for a second consecutive session-leading time after the team missed the first session, their car delivered late to the Speedway.
The #11 WIN Motorsport ORECA emerged from the session second fastest with Tristan Nunez, half a second down though on the fastest car in the session. Nico Lapierre was a further four-tenths back in the #52 PR1/ Mathiesen 07.
Nick Tandy topped GTLM in the #4 Corvette with a 1:45.458 and, in doing so, was the first GTLM driver to top a session whilst lapping faster than the best of the LMP3s.
Jordan Taylor in the #3 Corvette and Timo Glock in the #25 BMW Team RLL M8 GTE were next up in the class order but once again were slower than the leading batch of LMP3s.
LMP3 saw a session led by a Ligier for the first time with Colin Braun in the #54 CORE autosport JS P320 topping the times in 1:43.572 ahead of the pair of Riley-run Ligiers of Jeroen Bleekemolen and Oliver Askew
Daniel Serra posted the fastest GTD time of the session with a 1:46.495 in the #21 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo.
Laurens Vanthoor made it two factory drivers in the top two with his best effort in the #9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R with the #111 GRT Grasser Racing Team’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo third in the hands of Rolf Ineichen.
