The second of the back to back races at Watkins Glen will see a 30 car grid for the Weathertech 240.
All five classes will be present this weekend but with 11 cars from last weekend’s Sahlens 6 Hours giving the sprint race a miss partially compensated for by three additions, all in GTD.
DPI fields the full season sextet, all six back to their regular two-driver line-ups.
LMP2 sees three cars listed with Oreca from WIN Motorsport, Tower Motorsport and PR1 Mathiasen.
LMP3 sees six entries on the pre-event listing.
GTLM is back down to three cars with the BMWs running only the enduros this season. The fire-damaged Weathertech Porsche is being repaired for the weekend’s action with the team also having a spare car available.
GTD numbers 13 entries with the debut coming this weekend for the newly announced Gilbert/ Korthoff Mercedes AMG and the return of both the Gradient Racing and Compass Racing Acuras.
With only Sprint Cup, and not full-season, points in GTD on offer several full-season squads have again opted to miss the race with Pfaff Motorsports’ Porsche, Magnus Racing’s Acura and, with a withdrawal after the provisional entry was published from Wright Motorsports’ #16 Porsche too.
The NTE Sport Audi and SunEnergy 1 AMG that contested the 6 Hours will not race this weekend either.
