MissionH24, the programme developed jointly by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and GreenGT, will be out in force throughout race week at the 2021 Le Mans 24 Hours with their two electric-hydrogen-powered prototypes the LMPH2G and the new H24, making several public runs on the full 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit with demonstrations every day from Wednesday to Saturday in dedicated sessions.
While the LMPH2G has already lapped the circuit, 2021 will be the newer H24’s maiden public outing.
The new prototype takes the technology demonstrating LMPH2G progress to a next level, the new car designed to chase performance.
It is lighter, more powerful and quicker with new aerodynamics, new mechanical components and a new enhanced power train marking an important step forward in the preparation of a category reserved for electric-hydrogen-powered vehicles at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The LMPH2G and the H24 will take to the track on Wednesday 18th between 10:00 and 10:20, Thursday 19th between 10:00 and 10:35, Friday 20th between 14:00 and 15:00 and finally on Saturday 21st August at 15:42 for a lap of honour before the competitors in the 89th 24 Hours of Le Mans are unleashed at 16:00.
These runs will see Stéphane Richelmi at the wheel. The Monegasque driver one of the MissionH24 programme’s three test drivers with Norman Nato and Stoffel Vandoorne, both also present at Le Mans and taking part in the race with their teams entered for the LMP2 category.
The session on Friday 20th will be dedicated to track runs in the LMPH2G with a passenger on board with Richelmi accompanied by industry leaders (manufacturers, equipment suppliers, energy providers, team managers, etc.).
The H24 Racing team’s two prototypes and the TotalEnergies mobile refuelling station developed especially for the MissionH24 programme is installed in the Maison Blanche paddock.
