Corvette Racing have added a second GTD Pro-spec Corvette C8.R to their entry for the 2022 Rolex 24 Hours.
Nick Tandy and Tommy Milner, already confirmed for a full season in GTE Pro for the 2022 FIA WEC will also race at Daytona where they will be joined by new signing to the team Marco Sorensen.
31 year old Dane Sorensen (above right with fellow Champion Nicki Thiim) has two FIA WEC GTE Drivers titles to his name taking the 2016 World Cup title and then the 2019/20 FIA World GTE Drivers Championship. He has raced once before at the Rolex 24 Hours in 2017 in a GTD class Aston Martin.
Marco Sorensen: “I’m super happy to join Corvette Racing. It’s a great opportunity for me personally to be with this team and try to achieve together the result that everyone is wanting – that’s of course winning! I love the mentality of Corvette Racing. It has a great car and from what I know, there are some really great people that I will team up with. So I’m really looking forward to this. Corvette Racing has always been a standout team to me because of the way they go racing. They go race and they race hard. They have been around for a very long time so to have the opportunity to go with the team to Daytona is a great one.”
