Newly formed Team Tresor by Car Collection has revealed their Pro class line-ups in addition to their already unveiled car in Endurance Silver Cup.
Audi Sport drivers Christopher Haase and Mattia Drudi, experienced GT3 racer Simon Gachet and Formula 2 race winner Luca Ghiotto, will form the driver pool for entries in both Sprint and Endurance Cups.
In the Sprint Cup, Audi Sport driver Christopher Haase and Simon Gachet will share the #11 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO 2, while sister car #12 will be driven by Audi Sport driver Mattia Drudi and Formula Luca Ghiotto. Both cars will compete for the PRO championship.
In addition, Tresor by Car Collection will also compete in PRO Endurance Cup driven by the trio Drudi/Ghiotto/Haase.
Christopher Haase is one of the most successful GT3 drivers. He has been competing for Audi Sport in a wide variety of racing series for many years and has been able to celebrate countless successes. These include prestigious victories at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the Spa 24 Hours or the championship title in the ADAC GT Masters.
23-year-old Italian Mattia Drudi is one of the great young talents in the Audi Sport squad. Despite his youth, he can already look back on many successes in the Ingolstadt-based company’s GT3 PROgram. Drudi has been competing regularly in the GT World Challenge since 2019.
After a career in formula racing, Frenchman Simon Gachet switched to sportscar racing in 2016 with a season with Panis Barthez Racing in the ELMS. Since 2017, the 28-year-old has been competing in the GT World Challenge and has already celebrated numerous race wins there.
Luca Ghiotto also comes from formula racing through the various junior classes up to Formula 2, where he raced successfully for four years. After a short spell with Team LNT in the WEC, the 27-year-old Italian switched to GT racing and has raced in the Italian GT Championship, ADAC GT Masters and a one-off at the Spa 24 Hours last year with Emil Frey Racing.
Ferdinando Geri: “When we started, together with Peter Schmidt, to set up this project, it was our aim to have an outstanding line-up. I believe that with Christopher, Mattia, Simon and Luca, as well as Lorenzo, Alex and Hugo, we have achieved this goal. We are preparing for a season at the highest level, in one of the most competitive and complete championships for GT cars in the world. It’s going to be very exciting season and we can’t wait to compete on the track”.
Christopher Haase: “I am very much looking forward to the upcoming season and the cooperation with Team Tresor by Car Collection. I have been associated with the Car Collection team for a long time and we have already been able to contest many races together. We’re on the same wavelength there. I’m also really looking forward to working with my Audi Sport colleague Mattia Drudi as well as teammates Simon Gachet and Luca Ghiotto”.
Mattia Drudi: “I’m really excited to jump in this new PROject. We’re working hard during the preseason period to be fully prepared for Imola and all the races afterwards. With such an experienced and fast team mates like Christopher and Luca for sure we can aim to fight for top results in both Endurance and Sprint series. Looking forward to kick off this season with the new Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo2 that for sure will help us to perform even more!”
Simon Gachet: “First of all, a big thank you to Ferdinando Geri and Tresor by Car Collection for giving me the chance to race in the GT3 class under the best conditions. I’m really happy to return in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo2 alongside Christopher Haase in the PRO category. It will be our third year together in the sprint series and we only have one goal”.
Luca Ghiotto: “I’m really happy and excited to start this new adventure with this new team, it’s going to be an intense season at the highest GT3 level.
