Another sign that the post-COVID era is upon us is the confirmation this morning that the Sepang 12 Hours is set to return in 2023, bringing endurance racing back to South East Asia (outside of Japan) for the first time since 2020.
A partnership between Top Speed and Sepang International Circuit (SIC) will see the Sepang 12 Hours run once again, March 3-5 2023 – the first time that the event (formerly known as the Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race and Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race), will have been held since 2016.
The new team behind the race features the TopSpeed organisation under the management of David de Gobbie and Sepang International Circuit.
Whilst the inaugural event on the floodlit, Class 1 circuit will focus on local teams and drivers, the race will be also open to overseas teams, and will include GT and TCR classes with significant track time at Sepang’s first class facility.
The race will be live streamed.
