Alpine have taken the wraps off a new concept vehicle – the ‘Alpenglow’ that looks to be showing off some of the forthcoming design ‘language’ that will feature in future roadgoing, and competition Alpine vehicles.
The Renault-owned brand are set to enter Hypercar competition in 2024 with an Oreca-chassised LMDh car powered by a new in-house designed and built Alpine engine coupled to the ‘spec’ LMDh hybrid drive.
PR wording around the ‘reveal’ of the Alpenglow says the car was “designed with both the open road and racetrack in mind. It is a concept car that embodies the design hallmarks of the brand’s upcoming motorsports and production models, as well as its long-term commitment to sustainability.”
That seems a clear indication that some aspects of the concept car’s ‘look’ are set to find a home on the new Hypercar with the frontal styling, the ‘face’ of the Alpenglow looking not too far away from the proportions expected from the 2024 car, two of which are set to be campaigned by Signatech on behalf of the factory in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship.
