Algarve Pro Racing’s husband and wife team owners Stewart and Sam Cox are en route back to their Portugal home tonight for a short stopover before travelling to Bahrain for the season finale of the 2022 FIA WEC.
For the past few days though they have been in the USA putting together key aspects of what looks set to be a full season in LMP2 in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship with a single ORECA 07 Gibson in the LMP2 class.
And there’s further good news too that the triple title-winning outfit is set to return to the Asian Le Mans Series in February, again with a single car, to contest the overall title once again alongside confirmed entries from United Autosports (x2), Nielsen Racing, Cool Racing and, DSC believes, others in the Series’ top class.
With the latest machinations in the FIA driver categorisation process, plans to return to the FIA WEC look less likely now but the team’s planned single car effort in the 2023 European Le Mans Series looks very solid, with progress also being made towards a potential second ELMS car too.
3-4 entries in 3 Championships, there’s another busy year ahead for APR!
