GMB Motorsport has confirmed the story initially broken by DSC earlier the year that they will step up to the European Le Mans Series in 2023 with an Aston Martin Vantage GTE.
The GTE campaigns’ centrepiece will be the centenary 24 Hours of Le Mans thanks to an automatic invitation earned with the GT3 Championship win from the team in the 2022 Michelin Le Mans Cup.
The Aston Martin is set to be crewed throughout by Michelin Le Mans Cup race winners and Championship runners up Jens Reno Møller and Gustav Birch and Danish TCR and Michelin Le Mans Cup Champion Kasper H. Jensen.
The Aston Martin carries prominent branding from both MASCO workwear and from McDonalds, both of which continue with GMB after supporting the three-car Honda NSX effort in the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
Not yet confirmed is the likely return of the team to defend their title there with one or two cars possible, at least one of which ma well not be a Honda!
Spearheading the team will of course be team manager Casper Elgaard, who himself drove for Aston Martin Racing at Le Mans back in 2007, one of an array of Danes who have brought the ‘Dane Train’ moniker to Aston Martin’s efforts at Le Mans and in the FIA WEC for many years:

The first opportunity to see the new Aston Martin Vantage GTE in action will be on the 19th of April next year during the official tests for ELMS ahead of the first race of the season on the 23rd of April in Barcelona.
