Asian Le Mans Series Thursday/Friday Paddock Notes

The InterEuropol quartet made for quite a nose-to-tail sight on pitlane last night, the team with a single LMP2 Oreca and a trio of LMP3 Ligiers present this weekend.

Things That Went Bump In The Night

Frederic Jousset walked away unhurt from a single-car incident aboard the #18 360 Racing Ligier JS P320 during Thursday evening’s second private test session. This was one of two red flags during the session.

The 360 Racing Ligier itself suffered damage to the left rear suspension and light damage to the bodywork, but isn’t expected to miss any significant track time.

Crate Expectations

TF Sport have now received the crate containing their essential equipment needed to run both of their Aston Martin Vantage GT3s.

Their #95 car, shipped in a separate container, is expected to arrive later tonight (Friday morning update – The #95 is still not on site!)

Meanwhile, the Evisu Jeans livery on the sister #61 Aston Martin is being altered slightly, replacing dark red trim pieces on the roof line with a brighter yellow.

Vette-ran Meets Future Corvette Star

Oliver Gavin will join DSC Editor Graham Goodwin in the TV booth for the four Asian Le Mans Series rounds in Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the next two weekends.

And the Corvette Racing legend had the opportunity to meet the factory team’s latest signing in the Dubai Autodrome pit lane with FIA WEC-bound Nico Varrone keen to grab a photograph with a man he described as one of his racing heroes!

Argentinian racer Varrone will join Ben Keating and Nicky Catsburg in the #33 Corvette for the FIA WEC. He’s crewing the #11 WTM by Rinaldi Duqueine in the LMP3 class of the Asian Le Mans Series.
