The second practice session of the European Le Mans Series Grand Finale weekend grid saw the most favourable conditions all weekend, with overcast skies and no rain.
The LMP2 field was led by Algarve Pro Racing, its #25 machine setting a time of 1:32.957 during James Allen’s run in the car. The second and third in the times were occupied by French teams, the #65 of Panis Racing quicker than the #28 of IDEC Sport.
Nielsen Racing paced LMP2 Pro/Am, its #24 car at the hands of Mathias Beche setting a time of 1:33.152. DragonSpeed came next, the American squad’s #81 ORECA setting a time of 1:33.252. Completing the top three was the #99 Proton Competition ORECA.
Manuel Espírito Santo set the fastest LMP3 time in the #8 Team Virage Ligier, a 1:38.047. After a disappointing result in yesterday’s race it was a positive session for Ryan Harper-Ellam who ended up second fastest in the #7 Nielsen Racing Ligier. Third place belonged to the #31 of Racing Spirit of Leman with Antoine Doquin at the wheel.
LMGTE saw popular Dane Nicki Thiim set the pace in the #44 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GTE of GMB Motorsport with a time of 1:41.053. Matteo Cairoli came clostest in the #60 Iron Lynx Porsche, followed by another Aston Martin, this time the #95 of TF Sport.
ELMS Qualifying will start at 17:20 local time tonight.
