For the first time since 2018, SRO Motorsports America will be part of the Grand Prix of Long Beach weekend. GT America powered by AWS will join a stacked paddock alongside the IndyCar Series and IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a 23-car field.
Nine SRO3 (GT3) cars are entered for the weekend double-header. Of the 23 drivers taking part, two of them have won SRO America races at Long Beach in the past – SKI Autosports’ Johnny O’Connell, and GMG Racing’s James Sofronas, both driving Audi R8 LMS GT3s this weekend.
O’Connell heads to Long Beach as the current SRO3 points leader after a win and second-place finish at Sonoma Raceway two weeks ago.
The GT2 grid has grown by two entries this weekend. Lone Star Racing and Dan Knox will make their first appearance of the season in the #10 Mercedes-AMG GT2, while CJ Moses is back for his first race of 2024, driving the #58 Audi R8 LMS GT2.
They’ll join the two TPC by Dream Racing Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeos of Aaron Farhadi and Alan Grossberg, and the GMG Racing Mercedes-AMG of Brett Holden, who each return from Sonoma.
GT4 has also grown this weekend, featuring three new entries. Samantha Tan will make her GT America series debut and drive the #38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 – it’ll be her first time racing in GT4 since 2021.
Elias Sabo and Robb Holland are returning to GT America, with Holland entering a second Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, and Sabo in an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 entered by Flying Lizard Motorsports.
Sabo and Flying Lizard will be the only team and driver combo pulling IMSA and GT America “double duty” at Long Beach: Sabo and Andy Lee will drive the Lizards’ new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 as it makes its IMSA debut on Saturday. Turner Motorsport will also enter cars in both series.
GT America’s 40-minute races are scheduled for Saturday at 4:45 PM following the IMSA race, and Sunday at 4:25 PM following the IndyCar Grand Prix of Long Beach.
