A high-quality field of 67 GT3 cars from nine manufacturers are set to contest the centenary edition of the Spa 24 Hours next month.
The entry list for the ‘blue riband’ SRO endurance race released this afternoon during the official Prologue test contains a near-complete list, with a smattering of TBAs across cars in the five categories.
There is an numerically appropriate top class Pro entry of 24 cars (featuring all nine manufacturers), 22 cars in the Bronze Cup, 10 cars in Silver, six in Gold six and five in Pro/Am.
Mercedes-AMG has the biggest fleet, with 14 cars entered and four cars in the Pro class hoping to secure the German brand its fifth overall win in the race and third in the GT3 era.
Porsche is also well represented with 12 911s, half of which will race in Pro, while BMW will defend last year’s overall victory with a seven-car entry and four Pro cars fighting for overall honours. A win this year would be a record-extending 25th for BMW and Porsche’s ninth.
The remaining manufacturers with cars on the entry are Audi, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini and McLaren. Notably, there are three new-for-2024 GT3 cars, with a single Ford Mustang entered by Proton Competition and a pair of new Vantage GT3s from Walkenhorst and Comtoyou.
As for the drivers, there are 16 former winners listed, including the defending ROWE Racing BMW trio of Philipp Eng, Nick Yelloly and Marco Wittmann. There will also be a significant number of Belgian drivers hoping to triumph at their home event, with more than 20 signed up.
Beyond the 24-hour race itself, which will be held over June 29th and 30th, the week will feature a packed support bill, concerts, a parade and exhibitions for fans trackside.
The centenary edition gets underway at 16:30 on Saturday 29 June.
