British IMSA GTP driver Nick Yelloly has parted ways with BMW M Motorsport following the conclusion of the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season at Road Atlanta last weekend, after a six-year stint as a factory driver.
During his time as a BMW works driver, which began in 2019, he claimed overall wins at the Nürburgring and Spa 24 Hours (below), won the China GT championship and captured BMW’s first victory with the M Hybrid V8 last year at Watkings Glen in IMSA’s GTP class with Team RLL.
“I am incredibly grateful for everything BMW M Motorsport has done for me,” Yelloy said. “They were the first to give me a chance as a works driver back in 2019, and together we celebrated many great successes. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a BMW M works driver and wish BMW M Motorsport all the best for the future.”
Andreas Roos, the head of BMW M Motorsport, said he and the whole organisation wishes Yelloly well for the next chapter of his career.
“Nick Yelloly is a great professional who has achieved a lot with BMW M Motorsport,” he added. “On behalf of the entire BMW family, I thank him for six wonderful years with plenty of reasons to celebrate. Personally, I will always remember that one week with back-to-back victories at Watkins Glen and Spa-Francorchamps.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce today that BMW M Motorsport and Nick Yelloly will be parting ways after this season.
