FEL Motorsports has announced two significant cost-saving measures for prospective entries in the 2025 Sports Car Championship Canada and Radical Cup Canada seasons.
The first measure is a 20 per cent decrease in registration and entry fees for SCCC & RCC. Teams in both series will see significant savings from the previous season.
Detailed pricing will be shared as soon as the 2025 schedule is announced in the coming days, but entrants will still have the tiered registration options that have been offered in the past. This tiered entry format allows the teams and drivers to customize their program into a model that fits them.
FEL Motorsports, the promoter of SCCC & RCC, continues to stay the course on giving Canadian teams and drivers a relevant place to hone their skills through homologated racing in a safe and professional environment. FEL Motorsports believes that by lowering fees, grids in both series will increase. This growth will come from teams and drivers who have a desire to move up the ladder in motorsports.
“We started this journey to support Canadian race teams and drivers and give them a relevant place to race in Canada,” said FEL Motorsports President Chris Bye. “Our teams have voiced concerns over budgets and we are listening.
“While lowering costs to teams we are committed to maintaining the same high-level, professional race weekends that our teams have come to expect. Our focus is on building car counts and increased grids as we move forward.”
Most recently, FEL has announced that teams who run a current-generation TCR car for the full season will receive a 50 per cent discount for the entry of a first-gen TCR car. This programme is designed to help current teams find and facilitate new drivers while increasing the grid size of the SCCC.
“This is another step in our journey to drive Canadian motorsports forward by doing our best to support Canadian race teams and young aspiring Canadian drivers. We hope this initiative will help teams draw new talent into the series and put the many available Gen 1 cars to good use,” Bye said of the first-gen TCR initiative.
“Although these cars represent a previous generation, in the right hands they have proven to be competitive, as demonstrated by Richard Boake and Blanchet Motorsports at this year’s Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto where they finished P1 and P2 in a Gen 1 Audi RS3 LMS TCR.”
The two variations of the 2016 Audi RS3 LMS TCR and 2017 Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR (DSG & Sequential), the 2017 Honda Civic Type R TCR (FK7), the 2018 Hyundai i30 N TCR, and the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N TCR are eligible for this 50% discount.
