Yesterday marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of SRO – now the SRO Motorsports Group – then known as the Stephane Ratel Organisation.
The intervening three decades has seen Stephane Ratel’s team establish and/ or oversee, a huge range of Championships, principally (but not exclusively in GT racing) including BPR, FIA GT Championship, FIA GT1 World Championship, GT2 European Series, FIA GT3 Championship, GT4 European Series, Blancpain GT and Blancpain GT Endurance Series, British GT, FFSA GT, and latterly GT World Challenge with Series in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia, the Intercontinental GT Challenge and newly established standalone series in both Japan and, new for 2025, in China too. Plus the FIA Motorsport Games and the FIA GT World Cup at Macau and a collaboration with the ACO and LMEM to run the Asian Le Mans Series.
Put that little lot together and the total reaches many, many thousands of individuals and entities that have joined and competed in our sport.

There’s little doubt that without the drive and commitment to the cause from Stephane and his team, several of whom have been with SRO for much, and in the case of Chief Operating Officer Patricia Kiefer, all of the company’s history, GT racing as we now know it would simply not exist.
Teams, manufacturers, drivers and fans have much to thank them for!
