April 2015 saw the opening race of the LMP3 era at Silverstone, the win taken by the Team LNT Ginetta Nissan of Sir Chris Hoy and Charlie Robertson en route to the inaugural class title.

ELMS is back in 2025, albeit in September rather than April and whilst Sir Chris is no longer racing in the Series, his stature in British sport is undiminished, still that of a legend.
His public discussion of his Stage 4 cancer diagnosis saw disbelief, but his response has been very much that of the man that those who have been close to him know defines him.
His latest mission is to raise awareness of, and provide assistance for, fellow Stage 4 cancer sufferers with a charity appropriately named ‘Tour de 4’.
Now, alongside a suite of sponsored bike rides set to raise funds for the effort, ELMS and Silverstone Circuit have combined to add further weight to the fundraising push with a Charity run around the Grand Prix circuit on the Friday evening (12 September) of the ELMS race meeting.
Tour de 4’s partner charities (Breast Cancer Now, Cancer Research UK, MacMillan, Maggies and Prostate Cancer UK) will receive 100% of the money raised.
The price is just £10, tickets are available online now (see below), over 18s only, and it is for a fantastic cause, backed by one of our own.
DSC will be there in numbers, though one or two of us might not manage more than walking pace.
So please do come for what should prove to be a well-supported effort – and if you can’t make it please buy a ticket anyway – details below.
