Alpine Endurance Team has confirmed that Ferdinand Habsburg will return to its FIA WEC Hypercar line-up in 2026.
Habsburg has raced with Alpine since the debut of its A424 LMDh at the beginning of 2024, and won last year’s 6 Hours of Fuji alongside Paul-Loup Chatin and Charles Milesi.
The Austrian is the fourth driver confirmed to be competing for the French marque in Hypercar this season, joining António Félix da Costa, Frédéric Makowiecki and Victor Martins. Alpine has not indicated which of its two cars Habsburg will feature in.
“I love racing with Alpine, and now that I know what it feels like to win with the brand, the excitement is all the higher!” Habsburg said. “Qatar can’t come soon enough!”
This will be the 28-year-old’s sixth FIA WEC campaign, with his spell at Alpine preceded by three years competing with Team WRT in LMP2, with whom he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans and FIA WEC title as a rookie in 2021.

He has genuine race intelligence. He understands situations instinctively, whether at the start of a race or in the middle of the night at Le Mans, and he knows how to adapt his driving accordingly.

The 2026 FIA WEC season begins with the Qatar 1812KM on 26th to 28th March 2026.
