Genesis’ GMR-001 Hypercar has been added to Le Mans Ultimate as a surprise addition to today’s Version 1.3 update.
The car, which is set to make its racing debut next month at the FIA WEC season-opening 6 Hours of Imola, is available for free to all players.
With the rest of the 2026 field yet to be added to the game, the GMR-001 can currently be accessed in single-player through the ‘2025 FIA WEC’ season.
Currently, Le Mans Ultimate only features the #17 entry of André Lotterer, Pipo Derani and Mathys Jaubert, featuring the real-life livery unveiled by Genesis Magma Racing earlier today. The sister #19 entry will likely be added once its race livery has been revealed by Genesis.
To allow players to celebrate the Genesis’ arrival, a ‘Magma Flow’ Daily Race has been added to this week’s online schedule, featuring 45-minute fixed setup races for the car around Spa-Francorchamps.
The event, which will feature splits of up to 44 cars, is available to all players with a safety rank of Silver or above.
DSC has already given the Genesis GMR-001 a brief test drive around the newly-added Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and can report that it’s a superb addition to the game’s suite of cars.
The Genesis feels nimble and inspires confidence, even on cold tyres, allowing you to build pace lap-on-lap. The natural comparison, of course, is to the Alpine A424 that the Genesis shares an ORECA chassis with, but the GMR-001 is more than distinct enough to offer its own challenge and experience.
Barcelona’s 4.657-kilometre Grand Prix layout, meanwhile, has a great flow for multi-class racing, with the rhythmic sections of corners enjoyable when circulating on your own, battling class rivals, or cutting through lower-category traffic.
