McLaren Motorsport hosted a two-day fitness camp for 38 drivers from its McLaren Elite Talent Pathway, Mclaren Trophy Academy and GT3 Junior programmes last week.
The camp, held at MSi Bio Performance in Madrid, formed part of McLaren Motorsport’s wider commitment to supporting driver development both inside and outside the car.
The two days featured a demanding programme of physical assessments and training activities, focusing on key areas such as strength, endurance, coordination, reaction time and overall condition. The importance of preparation, recovery and maintaining consistent fitness standards was also highlighted.
By bringing together 38 drivers, from 15 nationalities and three different programmes, the camp also enabled people to build closer relationships with others enrolled into the McLaren system.
“The fitness camp in Madrid was an important opportunity to bring together drivers from across our development programmes,” said McLaren Automotive head of motorsport Giorgio Sanna.
“It was particularly valuable to see them training together and sharing their experiences. We want to provide our drivers with the knowledge, support and environment they need to fulfil their potential, and initiatives such as this are an important part of that commitment.”
