Show Us Your Helmet & Help Little Sam Olley

Some familiar racing names are showing their helmets on the internet! And it is all for a very good cause.

Sam Olley is three years old and his Dad works in the racing industry. Sam has been fighting a brain tumour since he was 17 months old. He has just received another surgery to remove the tumour that has regrown. He has had chemotherapy but that is no longer an option second time around. So the next step will be a form of radiation treatment to the brain to try and kill off any remaining tumour and cells.

Sam needs Proton Beam Therpay. Although the NHS are not against this treatment and Sam’s doctors will be putting forward an application for NHS funding but Sam doesn’t meet one of the requirements for funding  and criteria is strict. If they won’t fund I need to have the money in two and a half weeks as treatment needs to be started quickly after surgery or we can’t go.

Sam’s parents are looking to raise £150,000 within the next two and half weeks to cover the cost of treatment.

So far Steven Kane, Nick Tandy, ‘Pipo’ Derani, Darren Turner, Karun Chandhok, Guy Smith, Marino Franchitti, Lucas Ordonez, Jann Mardenborough and many others have tweeted or facebooked selfies in their ‘casque’ to help raise awareness.

It is almost unimaginable what Sam and his family are going through right now. If you can donate or just raise some awareness with a tweet in your lid, then please take the five minutes to do so… for Sam.

You can save the JPEG below and print out to spread the message with the photo…
