More Rolex 24 Line-ups Confirmed

The Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates superteam for next month’s Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona has been confirmed as:

#01 Riley BMW – Scott Pruett, Juan Pablo Montoya, Memo Rojas and Charlie Kimball.

#02 Riley BMW –  Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon, Jamie McMurray and Joey Hand.

Pruett returns after winning his fifth career and third consecutive Rolex Series championship – will be looking to join Hurley Haywood as the lone five-time overall winners of the Rolex 24.

Haywood, meanwhile, will not be competing in the Rolex 24 for only the second time since 1971. The six-time Rolex 24 class winner will be honoured as Grand Marshal for the 51st running of the event.

Haywood’s 2012 drive in the #59 Brumos Porsche will be taken by Falken Tire ALMS regular Bryan Sellers, he joins the remainder of the team’s 2012 line-up – 2011 Rolex Series GT champions Andrew Davis and Leh Keen plus Porsche factory driver Marc Lieb.

“It’s surreal, listening to all of Hurley’s stories, and how many times he’s won this race,” Sellers said during his first test with the team on Tuesday at Daytona International Speedway. “That really puts things in perspective. I just hope to do my job and add something to a nice program.”

BTE Sport will make its DP debut at the Rolex 24 with the #27 DAC Aviation/Pentagon 2000 Riley Ford for Emmanuel Anassis, Anthony Massari and Doug Peterson.

Park Place Motorsports has completed the lineups for its two-car effort. Former Rolex 24 GT winners Patrick Long and Spencer Pumpelly join Patrick Lindsey, Jason Hart and Daniel Graeff in the #73 Porsche, while Chuck Cole, Grant Phipps, Mike Vess and Alex Whitman will co-drive the #72 Vess Energy Services Porsche.
