Following on from the announcement of our 2016 Sunoco 200 Challenge winner, Paddy McClughan, Sunoco report that he will be driving with the Racers Edge Motorsports team in the Sunoco liveried Ford Mustang in the BMW Performance 200 in January.
Radical Sprints Paddy McClughan led the Sunoco 200 Challenge standings for most of the 2015 season as a result of multiple fastest laps and pole positions. Despite not winning his Championship, he gained enough points to take the Sunoco 200 Challenge win, and is now looking ahead to his prize drive in the USA at the end of January at Daytona.
McClughan will be the first of the Sunoco 200 Challenge winners to drive in the Racers Edge Motorsports #16 Sunoco liveried Mustang. In the BMW Performance 200 race in January, McClughan will be join American Chris Beaufait, who raced the car all of last season.
McClughan’s first taste of driving the Sunoco liveried Racers Edge Motorsports Mustang will be during the ROAR Before the Rolex 24 from 8th to the 10th January 2016.
The 2016 Sunoco Whelen Challenge Champion Jonny Adam will also be out racing at Daytona. The Scot will be driving the Action Express racing-run #31 Whelen sponsored Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype at the Rolex 24 in January.
