New team Luzich Racing is set to mount a full-season, two-car attack on the International GT Open Championship this season, with some big names behind the wheel.
Its pair of Ferrari 488 GT3s will be entered in separate classes. The #51 car, will run in the Pro class, with reigning FIA WEC GTE Pro Drivers’ Champion Alessandro Pier Guidi and Mikkel Mac, while the #71 will run in Pro-Am with former Garage 59 driver Alex West and Michele Rugolo.
Pier Guidi will not take on the full season, at the Paul Ricard and Barcelona rounds, he’ll be replaced by Marco Cioci.
“It is an honor to be racing with Ferrari and compete in the prestigious International GT Open championship,” said Michael Luzich, the team’s owner. “We look forward to a spirited campaign and all out effort by the team.”
The team’s first run will come next month in the second official GT Open pre-season Winter Test at Paul Ricard in France.
