More Announcements From The ACO Press Conference

A few additional announcements were made during the ACO press conference:

  • Total Energie will supply renewable / petrol free fuel (Excellium Racing 100) to the WEC grid in 2022.
  • A new set of LMP2 regulations should be revealed soon. The new prototypes are due to compete in 2024.
  • The ACO and IMSA have extended their partnership by an additional decade (more to follow).
  • The introduction of a new Hydrogen class in the 24 Hours of Le Mans is postponed to 2025 after delays triggered by the COVID 19 situation.
  • The celebrations of the 24 Hours of Le Mans Centennial will last a full month, from mid-June 2023 (during the 24 hours of Le Mans week) to Le Mans classic event four weeks later.
  • A special trophy dedicated to the 2023 Le Mans winners is being created.
  • A film on Le Mans’s 100 year history is being produced and will be revealed in 2023. Focus will be on the development of technology and on the men and women who made Le Mans’s legacy.
  • A unique exhibition of all 24 Hours of Le Mans winning cars is being put together. This exhibition will travel the world from Laguna Seca to Pebble Beach, Goodwood, Retromobile and finally Paris.
