It’s been a topsy turvy season for the G-Drive Delta ADR team with race wins aplenty in the second part of the season following on from a simply epic stretch of poor fortune and mishap.
Bahrain’s WEC round later this month though will see the first part of a detailed 2014 plan revealed.
Whilst the #25 G-Drive Oreca Nissan still has an extreme outside chance of the title the #25 car can only hope for good race result with the title now beyond them.
There will then be a change in driver line-up, not for the first time this season, in the car with Tor Graves stepping back and Fabien Giroix replacing him as Silver ranked driver.
Giroix has, of course, most recently been seen in WEC racing as part of the Gulf Racing Middle East outfit that struggled for two part seasons with a Lola Nissan package that seemed further off the pace than the sum of its parts suggested it should be.
Now though Giroix’s links with the Millennium Development fund have brought the veteran racer to the Delta ADR fold as Simon Dowson explains:
“Delta Engineering are working on some long-term projects with the fund on future technology, including lightweight structures for the automotive sector, Fabien’s links with them make this a very neat fit, and his Silver status is, of course, a real plus with the current rules.”
Giroix’s programme after bahrain involves a full 2014 WEC campaign with the other drivers in the car yet to be finalised, “But we don’t need another Silver to comply with the rules,”
Delta ADR meanwhile are at Daytona this week for the TUSCC test on Sunday and Monday, for now though purely in an observational capacity, the Delta-designed Coyote body is not yet ready, they will though have the opportunity to observe progress with both the Action Express run Coyote Corvette DP in full 2014 spec, and a gaggle of P2 runners as they move towards their part programme in TUSCC.
