Malucelli and Kearby Suspended for Sebring Shunts
Risi Competizione’s Matteo Malucelli and BAR1 Motorsport’s Gaston Kearby, driver of the #87 LMPC Oreca have both received a one race suspension, and been placed on probation by IMSA for an additional race for their actions during the 12 Hours of Sebring earlier this month.
Both were deemed to have violated Rule 48.4 (unjustifiable risk) of the 2014 IMSA Rules, Malucelli was penalized for an incident at Turn 1 involving multiple cars and Kearby for an incident at Turn 16, also with multiple cars.
IMSA’s Director of Communications Resigns
David Hart, appointed in September 2013 as Director, IMSA Communications, has resigned his post and is believed to have left immediately. There is no immediate replacement.
