Emmanuel Collard is actively searching for a seat to take part in his 24th consecutive Le Mans 24 Hours this year, after he didn’t re-sign to compete with the TDS Racing effort in the FIA WEC ‘Super Season’.
DSC spoke to Collard in the FIA WEC Prologue paddock at Paul Ricard earlier this week. The Frenchman, who now lives near Le Castellet, was there, actively searching for Le Mans drive to add to his 2018 programme.
“I really want to go back to Le Mans,” the 2016 FIA WEC GTE Am champion said. “This year I have five or six VLN races confirmed with Francois, which is great, and it looks like we’ll be driving an LMP1 car in the Masters Endurance Legends series too.
“But Le Mans is really special to me, and I don’t want to miss it, I want to be be there for a 24th straight appearance.”
Collard, who made his 23rd straight Le Mans start last year, has enjoyed a special run at the race, with appearances as a Porsche, Cadillac, Toyota and Corvette factory driver, as well as a driver for high-profile privateer teams including Pescarolo Sport.
