Buurman & Osborne Fastest In Spa FP2

#22 Jaguar a confirmed retirement after earlier crash

Yelmer Buurman put the ERC Mercedes he shares with Lee Mowle at the top of the timing sheets in the second of Satruday’s two British GT free-practice sessions at Spa.

The Dutchman’s 2:20.420 was six-tenths up on Johnny Adam’s 2:21.024 in the #75 Optimum Aston Martin, but the overall pace is still some way off 2017’s pole position time of 2:18.615.

The Nicki Thiim/Mark Farmer TF Sport Aston Martin that set the pace in FP1 was third-quickest this time around, while Callum MacLeod got the #7 Team Parker Bentley around fourth-fastest overall.

In GT4, a Tolman McLaren was once again the car to beat; this time Joe Osborne was fastest in the #56 entry he shares with David Pattison. Second-quickest was Dean McDonald in the #43 Century BMW, ahead of Daniel McKay in the #10 Equipe Verschuur McLaren.

A brief red flag for a car in the gravel was the only incident of note, but the #22 Invictus Games Jaguar is now a confirmed retirement for the weekend following its heavy shunt at Radillion in FP1. Driver Basil Rawlinson was extracted from the car and taken to hospital in Liege for x-rays.
