Ford has announced that Billy Johnson and Jonathan Bomarito will be joining its World Endurance Championship effort for the Sebring 1000 Miles in March.
Billy Johnson, who became the first American to pilot the Ford GT to a win at Spa earlier this year, will race alongside Oliver Pla and Stefan Mucke in the #66 Ford GT. This is the same trio that won the aforementioned Spa round in May. Johnson is the usual Ford add-on driver for endurance races having participated at the Le Mans 24 and other major endurance rounds for the blue oval.
Jonathan Bomarito, on the other hand, will be making his debut at the wheel of the Ford GT. Bomarito joins a growing list of drivers running both the Sebring 12 Hours and the Sebring 1000 Miles. He will join Andy Priaulx and Harry Tincknell in the #67 Ford GT.
Tincknell and Bomarito will thus spend both races of the Sebring doubleheader with each other, having already announced as full season teammates in the #55 Mazda RT24-P in IMSA.
