FIA WEC LMP2 frontrunners JOTA will test local driver Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in the #37 Jackie Chan DC Racing ORECA 07 Gibson during this weekend’s FIA World Endurance Championship’s rookie test at Bahrain.
Bahrain native Isa will get track time in the #37 in the official WEC rookie test at Bahrain International Circuit on Sunday, 15 December, the day following the 8 Hours of Bahrain, the fourth round of the 2019-20 WEC season.
Isa has an extensive racing cv:
He competed in Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East for the past three seasons, taking part in races at Bahrain International Circuit, which he lists as his favourite racetrack, Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina Circuit.
Last month, Isa was a standout driver in the Pure McLaren GT Series event at Bahrain, winning one race and finishing runner-up in another, while setting the fastest overall race lap of the weekend.
In addition to his successes in GT cars, Isa has also tested Formula 2 and Formula 3 cars in the past two years, but will make his debut in prototypes with JOTA on Sunday.
Five hours of track time will be available on Sunday, with sessions running from 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 16:00 local time.
