WRT Top FP2

42 cars were on track this morning with two cars missing from the original entry list:

In the LMP2 category, the #32 United Autosports Oreca 07 Gibson shared by Job van Uitert, Nico Jamin and Manuel Maldonado stayed in the pits following positive COVID testing results of Van Uitert yesterday, news awaited on whether we will see the car at all this weekend.

In the LMP3 category, the #11 Eurointernational Ligier JSP320 Nissan driven by Andrea Dromedari, Jacopo Baratto and Joey Alders was absent following Baratto’s shunt in the first free practice session – the car understood by DSC to have been withdrawn, the damage beyond immediate repair here.

It was a quiet second free practice session, with few incidents to interrupt the lappery.

In LMP2, the Championship leading car, the #41 Team WRT Oreca 07 was fastest (1.37.958) ahead of the #26 G-Drive Racing Oreca 07 (1:38.351).

In LMP3, the #20 Team Virage Ligier JSP320 set the class-leading time (1:44.184).

Meanwhile, in LMGTE, the #88 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo topped the session (as it had in FP1).

Only one event raised a few eyebrows with a contact at Turn 1 between Yifei Ye in the #41 Team WRT Oreca 07 and Memo Rojas in the #30 Duqueine Engineering Oreca 07. Neither of the two cars were significantly damaged.

As always in Monza, attention is given to the respect of track limits: during the session, the #8 Graff Ligier JSP 320 Nissan driven by Eric Trouillet, Sebastien Page and David Droux and the # 24 Algarve Pro Oreca 07 Nissan shared by Diego Menchaca, Ferdinand Habsburg and Richard Bradley, all of Richard Bradley’s morning lap times were deleted as a result.
