Valentino Rossi will return to the Gulf 12 Hours to compete for its 10th edition at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on 8 January 2022.
The MotoGP legend, who retired from two-wheel racing in November, will take on the 12-hour endurance race for the third time, with the Monster VR46 Kessel Racing team.
Rossi will once again drive a Ferrari 488 GT3 in the Pro-Am class, alongside team-mates Luca Marini and Alessio Salucci.
The #46 Ferrari won the GT3 Pro-Am class and finished in third place overall on its debut in the 2019 Gulf 12 Hours at Yas Marina Circuit. The car returned to the Gulf 12 Hours Bahrain in January 2021, finishing fourth overall and second in the GT3 Pro-Am class.
Rossi has recently hinted at a potential effort at the Rolex 24 Hours with just about every major endurance championship keen to secure a programme featuring the motorcycling icon
Entries already announced for the GT3 class include previous champions 2 Seas Motorsport, Attempto Racing and AF Corse, along with AKKA ASP, SPS Automotive and Scott Sport.
Headline GT4 entries include a United Autosports McLaren 570S to be driven by IndyCar stars Felix Rosenqvist and Pato O’Ward alongside McLaren Racing boss Zak Brown. Century Motorsport will also field a BMW M4 and Aston Martin Vantage GT4.
