Italian GT squad Ceccato Racing is the latest to confirm the acquisition of a new BMW M4 GT3 with the squad eyeing a multi-series programme for the 2022 season.
Team manager (and former World Touring Car and DTM Champion) Roberto Ravaglia comments: “With the arrival of an exciting new model such as the BMW M4 GT3 and the progressive lifting of restrictions to activities following the pandemic, it seems this is the right moment to expand our racing programmes. So far, we have been focusing mainly on the Italian GT scene, with good success, but we are considering adding a European campaign. The GT Open, given its level of competitiveness and performance and its great calendar, would be a perfect fit. We are talking to a number of drivers, we see a lot of interest, and I am hopeful that we can join the grid.”
It would, of course, be the first appearance of BMW’s new GT3 machine in the GT Open though the marque has seen success in past seasons with the M6 GT3 fielded by both Teo Martín Motorsport and Šenkýř Motorsport.
