BMW Presents All-New M4 GT4

Production begins October 2022, will make full-scale racing debut from 2023

BMW Motorsport have officially unveiled the second generation BMW M4 GT4 today at VIRginia International Raceway. The G82-generation M4 GT4 will begin production in October 2022, at a price of €187,000 EUR. Once in production, the new M4 is set to make its full-scale customer racing debut in the 2023 season.

“We took on the challenge to develop a successor to the highly successful first-generation BMW M4 GT4,” said Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW Motorsport (BMW M). “Using a wide range of customer feedback, our experienced development team and the new sixth generation BMW M4 based production car has led to a faster, even more reliable and very emotional all new BMW M4 GT4.”

The developers of the new M4 GT4 focused on four key areas of improvement: Performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and maintainability. These areas of improvement, along with further refinements in ergonomics and electronics to improve the customer experience, will be used to build what BMW M feels will be a worthy successor to the first-generation M4 GT4 – using key technologies adapted from the production models, and components used in the already-successful M4 GT3.

This new racing vehicle has already completed a test race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in camouflage livery, and its final pre-production tests are ramping up – the new M4 GT4 will take part in the next race in the Nürburgring Endurance Series as well as the 24 Hours of Portimão.

Pending SRO homologation, this car is expected to be a staple of GT4 racing series around the world when it makes its debut next year.
