Joey Hand is to join the #40 Ozarks Raceway-backed PF Racing Ford Mustang GT4 for this weekend’s 4-hour race at Road America and for the remainder of the 2022 Michelin Pilot Challenge season.
Ford factory driver Hand replaces Chad McCumbee alongside James Pesek for the remainder of the season, McCumbee reported to have schedule conflicts in his parallel NASCAR and ARCA programmes that are preventing him from completing the season.
The PF Racing campaign marks Hand’s first return to a driving role in the IMSA paddock since a one-off outing in a Meyer Shank Acura at Sebring in 2020.
Hand has been undertaking a limited NASCAR season with Rick Ware Racing on the road courses in 2022 and is also engaged as the test and development driver for the forthcoming Ford Mustang GT3 with testing set to get underway in 2023.
