The field is set for the 2023 DTM season, with 28 cars se to go head-to-head at the season opener next month at Oschersleben.
This year’s grid features customer teams from the six manufacturers present in 2022: Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche. The 2023 season, the 37th in DTM history, it the third using GT3 regulations.
The entry includes the top three drivers from last year, Sheldon van der Linde, Lucas Auer and Rene Rast, all back for what promises to be another hugely competitive season.
“We are all set for the first season of the DTM under the ADAC umbrella. With 28 world-class drivers, 14 teams and strong partners, we have laid the foundation for a successful DTM season,” said ADAC Sport President Dr Gerd Ennser.
For 2023, in addition to the new teams, drivers and paint schemes on the entry, DTM will use a new environmentally-friendly fuel from series partner Shell, 50 per cent of which consists of renewable components. DTM says the field is “making a significant contribution to C02 reduction”.
“Sustainable fuel and the proven concept of the ‘Bottle Free Zone’ from the ADAC GT Masters are helping us to set new standards for sustainability in the DTM,” Ennser continued.
“As we head into a new era for the DTM, we aim to pursue this path consistently in the future. We are looking forward to the season-opener in Oschersleben, as the DTM returns there for the first time since 2015.”
The season’s opening weekend is set to run from 26th to 28th May at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The series will also visit Zandvoort, Norisring, Nürburging, Lausitzring, Sachsenring, Red Bull Ring and the Hockenheimring this year.
