Roar Before The 24 Entry List Published

Final entry list for Daytona settles at 59 cars after KellyMoss/Riley scales down to single car

IMSA has released the entry list for next week’s Roar Before The 24, and with it, the final count of cars for the 62nd annual Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona has been set at 59 cars.

The Roar Before The 24 will feature three days of on-track testing from 19-21 January, culminating in qualifying which will set the grid for the opening round and crown jewel of the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

A late scratch from the Daytona entry list is the #91 KellyMoss by Riley Porsche 911 GT3 R. The team which initially planned to enter one car each in both GTD Pro and GTD classes, will now consolidate its efforts down to a single GTD car, the #92 driven by David Brule, Alec Udell, Trent Hindman, and Julien Andlauer. Hindman and Andlauer were the final two drivers to be announced for the team.

Another confirmation from the entry list released by IMSA on Tuesday evening is the final driver of AF Corse’s #88 Oreca LMP2 07, Matthieu Vaxivière. The Frenchman, who recently joined the Alpine Hypercar programme in the FIA World Endurance Championship, will join the trio of Luis Perez Companc, Nicklas Nielsen, and Lilou Wadoux.

Still to be determined are the four drivers for Lone Star Racing’s #80 Mercedes-AMG GT3. There is also no decision yet on a fourth driver which will accompany Sarah Bovy, Michelle Gatting, and Rahel Frey in the #83 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2.

The entry list published by IMSA also has a few “TBD” placeholders for drivers that were already confirmed by their respective teams – among them, Kenny Habul of Sun Energy 1 Racing, Ferdinand Habsburg of Tower Motorsports, Connor Zilisch of Era Motorsport, and Frédéric Makowiecki of Wright Motorsports. (UPDATE: Habul has been added in an updated entry list issued on 11 January.)
