DTM race winner Christian Engelhart is set to make his return to the German-based series this weekend at the Nürburgring, driving for TGI Team by GRT.
The 39-year-old, who won at Oschersleben with Porsche customer team Toksport WRT in 2023, is standing in for the injured Maximilian Paul.
Paul sustained a lower leg injury after an accident at the Norisring last month, which has ruled him out of action for the foreseeable feature.
TGI Team by GRT elected to field just a single Lamborghini Temerario GT3 last time out at Oschersleben, where Mirko Bortolotti scored the car’s maiden victory.
The Austrian outfit will expand back to two cars for this weekend’s sixth round of the season at the Nürburgring, with Engelhart joining his former GT World Challenge Europe co-driver Bortolotti in the line-up.
It will be the German’s first DTM start since June 2024, when he stood down from his campaign with Grasser due to a knee injury.
It is also set to be Engelhart’s first race in the Temerario GT3, having primarily raced the previous-generation Huracán GT3 Evo2 so far in 2026.
The DTM will compete at the Nürburgring from 14th to 16th August 2026.
