Robert Shwartzman will join fellow Ferrari factory drivers Yifei Ye and Robert Kubica in crewing the privately entered #83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P for the full 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship.
The third 499P will compete in the FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams, alongside the pair of Hertz Team Jota Porsches and Proton Competition’s Porsche 963.
The confirmation of SHwartzman’s drive comes just a couple of days after Ferrari confirmed that the driving crews for their pair of factory-entered Ferrari AF Corse 499Ps will remain unchanged from 2023 with the #50 driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Niklas Nielsen and the #51 reprising the 2023 Le mans winning trio of Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi.
For 23-year-old Yifei Ye his first season with Ferrari will be his second in Hypercar after head-turning form in the Jota-run Porsche last year.
24-year-old Robert Shwartzman, who raced in last year’s GT World Challenge Europe – will make his Hypercar racing debut after he turned in the best overall time with the 499P in the rookie tests in Bahrain in November 2023 – He will remain as a reserve driver for Scuderia Ferrari in F1.
