AKKODIS ASP Team driver Arnold Robin has been confirmed as ‘ok’ to DSC via a team spokesperson after his nasty Free Practice 1 incident at Turn 4 of the Interlagos circuit.
The Frenchman was taken to the medical centre and then a local hospital for precautionary checks after the hit. He has since been discharged and according to a WEC spokesperson is en route back to the circuit at the time of writing.
Worse news is that the #78 RC F LMGT3 has been left damaged beyond immediate repair on-site from the incident, which shortened the opening session due to lengthy barrier repairs.
The car has therefore been withdrawn from the meeting, meaning AKKODIS ASP’s effort is down to a single car – the #87 RC F LMGT3 – for the remainder of the weekend.
Free Practice 2 has been extended as a result of the red flag stoppage in FP1, it will run until 16:45 local time.
