Factory IMSA GTD Pro Fords To Return In 2025

Both Mustangs granted entries for a second season in IMSA

Ford Multimatic Motorsports has become the latest in a string of teams to have its entries for the 2025 IMSA season confirmed. The ‘Blue Oval’ will be represented in GTD Pro with a multi-car Mustang GT3 factory effort once again.

The return of the Ford brand for 2024 and the introduction of the Mustang to the WeatherTech Championship has generated plenty of attention. The #64 is fresh off a season-best second-place finish in the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR on Aug. 25 and sits eighth in the GTD PRO standings.

The sister #65 is one spot behind its stablemate in the class standings and is also coming off its season-best showing, fourth place at VIRginia International Raceway.

The Mustangs will continue to race with #64 and #65, with the driver crews for the cars set to be announced at a later date. Its current IMSA driver roster features Mike Rockenfeller, Harry Tincknell, Christopher Mies, Joey Hand, Dirk Müller and Frédéric Vervisch.

Other key teams to have their IMSA entries for 2025 confirmed in recent days include Inter Europol Outlines IMSA & Asian Le Mans Plans, United Autosports, BMW Team RLL, Wayne Taylor Racing (with Cadillac) and Action Express Racing.
