Jules Gounon, Alpine Endurance Team’s Hypercar reserve driver, is set to make his third FIA WEC start of the 2024 season at next weekend’s 6 Hours of Fuji.
Gounon has been called up to race in the #35 A424 in the seat normally filled by Paul-Loup Chatin alongside Charles Milesi and Ferdinand Habsburg.

Alpine made the decision before the season began that Gounon would drive at Fuji in place of Chatin as part of his development within the team.
Initially it would have been his first Hypercar start, but Gounon was called up to race in the #35 at both Imola and Spa to stand in for Habsburg. The Austrian was unable to take part after sustaining an injury during a testing incident in March.
Chatin will rejoin Alpine for the final race of the season in Bahrain.
The 2024 6 Hours of Fuji is set to take place on September 15th.
