Stockport’s Harley Haughton is aiming for a British GT GT4 Pro-Am podium at Donington Park on Sunday in what will be his second start in the championship.
The 19-year-old will team-up with Breakell Racing owner, James Breakell, in the two-hour race around the 2.5-mile Leicestershire track.
The duo will share driving duties in a Mercedes-AMG in the GT4 Pro-Am class in the penultimate round of the series.
Haughton claimed a brilliant fourth place on his BGT debut in the Silverstone 500 in April, just missing out on a class podium.
The Donington event is a multi-class race and is likely to feature over 30 cars and 10 different manufacturers.
Harley finished an second in his last race, the latest round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie Cup 3 Championship last month (3 Aug).
“Donington Park is a circuit I have a lot of experience at, and while it’s not my favourite in the UK, it is the one I know best,” Haughton said.
“Our British Endurance Championship race there in preparation for my BGT debut at Silverstone in April gave us plenty of data to work with and a great foundation for success for the upcoming BGT race at Donington.
“Silverstone back in April went extremely well and the whole team put in a great performance. The Breakell team and I have been working closely for a few years now and I’m confident that Donington will bring us more success.
“Having James [Breakell], team owner and experienced Radical and Nürburgring racer, as my ‘Am’ driver for Donington is something I’m excited about as I know his no-nonsense mindset and attitude towards constant improvement will serve us well.”
Sunday’s two-hour British GT race at Donington Park is scheduled to get underway at 13:00 local time.
